Compositions not in a specific form or of a specific type for two or more percussionists, each playing one or more different percussion instruments, are entered under [Percussion ensembles.]
The word "percussion" may stand for any number of percussionists when used as a medium of performance in other headings, including when used as accompaniment, e.g. [Choruses, Secular (Mixed voices) with percussion; Concertos (Percussion); Octets (Trumpets (4), percussion); Percussion with orchestra; Songs with percussion.]
This heading is used for musical compositions not in a specific form or of a specific type for one percussionist playing two or more different percussion instruments other than drum set. Such compositions for drum set are entered under [Drum set music.]
